Parlamentul European o sustine oficial pe Laura Codruta Kovesi pentru ocuparea functiei de procuror-sef european, potrivit unui comunicat al Grupului Verzilor, care are un membru in echipa de negociatori.
Si grupul PPE a dat un comunicat care a anuntat aceeasi optiune.
„Today, the European Parliament’s Conference of Presidents has endorsed the nomination of LAURA CODRUTA KOVESI, the former head of the Romanian Anti-Corruption Agency (DNA), for the role of EUROPEAN CHIEF PROSECUTOR at the new European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO). The Parliament will now need to agree with the Council. JUDITH SARGENTINI will lead the negotiations on behalf of the Greens/EFA group.

Si grupul PPE a dat un comunicat care spune ca, in negocierile cu Consiliul UE, candidatul care va fi sustinut de parlament va fi Laura Codruta Kovesi.
